Carbon analysis and reporting

Reduce your carbon emissions, lower costs, and enhance your impact on climate and society with targeted carbon reduction. We support you in measuring, analysing, and developing strategies that not only help you achieve your sustainability goals but also align with CSRD requirements. This ensures transparency and prepares you for both current and future regulations on decarbonisation.

Carbon analyses

On the path to a carbon-neutral future! What reduction opportunities exist for your buildings, and what targets can you set? It all starts with measuring your carbon emissions. We provide objective measurement and in-depth insights, so you know exactly where you stand and where the biggest savings opportunities lie. Decarbonisation is not only necessary and increasingly legally required, but also financially beneficial.

Beyond measuring and setting targets, transparent reporting on your carbon footprint is crucial. How much CO2 does your company emit? Consider gas, electricity, water, waste, fleet, public transport, and air travel. Where are the biggest opportunities for improvement? With our support, you gain clear insights into these emissions and take concrete steps to reduce your carbon footprint. This way, you actively contribute to a sustainable future.

We work together with

From carbon baseline measurement to strategic action plan

The foundation of an effective carbon strategy begins with a detailed baseline measurement. Understanding your current carbon emissions is essential for complying with stricter regulations and achieving ambitious sustainability goals. CFP Green Buildings combines the expertise of experienced consultants with advanced tools, such as the Green Buildings Tool, to create an accurate carbon report.

Our reports go beyond numbers—they provide in-depth insights and practical recommendations. The baseline measurement serves as the starting point for targeted carbon reduction efforts.

Carbon reduction is an ongoing process. That’s why we offer quarterly or annual reports, ensuring continuous insight into your progress. With these insights, you can adjust strategies in real time and implement further optimisations. This structured approach enables organisations to achieve and continuously improve their carbon targets.

With CFP Green Buildings, you get a clear starting point and an action-oriented plan to effectively reduce your carbon footprint. Our approach helps you achieve sustainability goals while remaining agile in response to evolving regulations and stakeholder expectations.

CO2 meten: PCAF

PCAF

The Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) is a global initiative led by financial institutions working together to develop a standardised approach for measuring greenhouse gas emissions from loans and investments. By using PCAF, financial institutions can assess the carbon footprint of their financing activities, set targets, and report on their progress. This enables them to align their portfolios with the Paris Agreement climate goals.

CRREM

The Carbon Risk Real Estate Monitor (CRREM) provides insights into carbon emissions and compares real estate performance against carbon reduction pathways and regulations such as the EU Taxonomy and the Paris Agreement. It quantifies the financial implications of climate change for the building sector.

Carbon Performance Ladder: Our approach

The Carbon Performance Ladder is an effective tool for organisations looking to reduce carbon emissions and integrate sustainability into their operations. It not only helps save energy and cut costs but also provides a competitive advantage in procurement processes by demonstrating a measurable sustainability strategy.

At CFP Green Buildings, we support organisations at every level of the Carbon Performance Ladder, from initial steps to certification and ongoing optimisation.

Want to learn how your organisation can use the Carbon Performance Ladder to achieve its sustainability goals? Contact us for expert advice and discover how we can support you at every stage of the process.

Green Buildings Tool

The Green Buildings Tool by CFP Green Buildings provides large-scale insights into carbon reduction and energy savings. Entire real estate portfolios as well as individual properties can be uploaded, allowing the tool to retrieve CO2 scores and EPCs instantly.

With all data clearly organised, you can efficiently align with PCAF, CRREM standards, and GRESB. The Green Buildings Tool not only saves up to 75% of your time but also identifies future savings opportunities to help you move towards a carbon-neutral building.

Our Carbon Benchmark

When creating circular and sustainable buildings, the carbon footprint of your property plays a crucial role. The Carbon Benchmark by CFP Green Buildings provides clear insights into the environmental impact of buildings. With our objective measurement tool, you can compare the carbon emissions of different buildings.

Curious about how your building ranks in terms of carbon emissions? Use our Carbon Benchmark. With our extensive database, you can compare your building to at least 50 reference buildings, giving you a clear picture of its current performance and revealing potential savings opportunities.

Frequently asked questions about measuring and reducing carbon emissions

What does decarbonisation mean?

The meaning of decarbonisation is partly reflected in the word itself: it refers to the reduction or removal of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions from the atmosphere. In other words, reducing CO₂ emissions.

How can you measure CO2?

CO2 is typically measured in kilograms (kg) and, for larger quantities, in tonnes. When calculating a carbon footprint, emissions are assessed through three scopes: Scope 1, 2, and 3, as defined by the international Greenhouse Gas Protocol. In many footprint calculations, other greenhouse gases, such as nitrogen and methane, are also included. These gases are converted into CO2-equivalents for accurate comparison.

What is a carbon roadmap?

A carbon roadmap outlines planned measures and the corresponding CO2 reduction. Read here how hospitals are working towards a carbon-neutral future using a cabon roadmap.

What is the Carbon Benchmark?

The Carbon Benchmark by CFP Green Buildings provides insight into the environmental impact of buildings by enabling an objective comparison of CO2 emissions.

Are reporting standards like CRREM and PCAF mandatory?

While reporting standards such as CRREM and PCAF are not legally required, they are increasingly requested by investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders. Using these standards can be beneficial for attracting investments, meeting stakeholder expectations, and advancing sustainability efforts.
