CFP and KATE Innovations: accelerating DuPa assessments together with NXTBLDNG
The real estate world is evolving rapidly, with data playing a central role. To make well-founded decisions, reliable, scalable and accessible building data is essential. That is why CFP Green Buildings developed NXTBLDNG (Next Building): a uniform digital twin platform that forms the foundation for applications such as the mandatory Sustainability Paragraph (DuPa) in real estate valuations. By consolidating essential data into one accessible platform, NXTBLDNG contributes to greater transparency, improved valuation processes and faster progress in the energy transition.
A digital twin platform: one solution for all building data
NXTBLDNG, the digital twin platform by CFP Green Buildings, is a scalable data model that automatically collects, enriches and makes building information available at address level. The platform integrates validated sources such as the Dutch national building registry (BAG), EP Online and climate risk analyses with CFP’s own calculations and algorithms.
This results in a complete and reliable digital profile for each building, containing information such as:
- Building characteristics – construction year, building type and surface area
- Energy performance – energy labels and consumption
- Building systems – such as heating, ventilation and cooling
- Physical features – including insulation, glazing and roof or floor types
- Climate risks – exposure to heat, flooding and drought
- Retrofit measures – including estimated investment costs
All data is centrally managed and can be retrieved through NXTBLDNG based on the building address. This allows for seamless integration with existing workflows used by valuers, investors, banks and consultants.
NXTBLDNG in action: DuPa integration in real estate valuations via KATE Innovations
One of the key applications of NXTBLDNG is the delivery of DuPa data to KATE Innovations, a Dutch provider of valuation software. Since the introduction of the Sustainability Paragraph (DuPa), valuers are required to include objective, evidence-based sustainability information in valuation reports for commercial real estate.
Access to reliable sustainability data is often limited, but the API connection between NXTBLDNG and KATE provides an immediate solution. Thanks to this integration:
- Missing building data is automatically completed, including relevant retrofit options
- Investment calculations are provided to support valuation conclusions
- All data is transparent, traceable and derived from validated sources or tested algorithms
With just one click, valuers receive a full sustainability profile, directly within the KATE software and without manual data collection. Completing the DuPa now takes only 15 minutes instead of the usual three hours.heidsprofiel, zonder de KATE-software te verlaten en zonder handmatige dataverzameling. Het invullen van de DuPa kost hierdoor nog maar 15 minuten, in plaats van de gebruikelijke 3 uur.
Market impact
The integration between KATE and CFP’s digital twin platform strengthens the valuation process on several fronts. With access to reliable building data and automated recommendations for sustainability improvements, valuers can work faster, more consistently and with greater confidence. The result is not only more comprehensive valuations, but also reports that are future-proof. Banks and investors benefit from insights where sustainability is integrated in an objective and data-driven way. This positions KATE as a modern and forward-looking valuation solution.
The mandatory DuPa is just one of many possible applications of CFP’s NXTBLDNG. By making reliable, complete and scalable building data centrally accessible, the platform lays the foundation for an efficient, transparent and data-driven real estate sector.
