ONK sailing in J/80 class: A perfect warm-up for the world championship

In Naarden, sailors from all corners of the country gathered for three days filled with adrenaline and intensity. With wind gusts ranging from 15 to 34 knots, it was a true test of strength for the fleet. The tension was palpable, and the race was anything but predictable. In short, the ideal preparation for the world championship in 2025.

Spectacular races and dynamic wind conditions

The J/80 Open Dutch Championship was spectacular, with three days of wind and gusts between 15 and 34 knots. The sailors had to use their knowledge and experience to the fullest to tackle the elements. The dynamic conditions made the races both exciting and unpredictable, requiring teams to be not only technically skilled but also strategically strong. After a total of nine races, team Joyride led by Torsten Nullmeier was crowned J/80 Dutch Champion 2024.

The friendly and competitive J/80 class

The J/80 class is competitive, but at the same time, participants are always willing to encourage each other, give advice, and lend a hand. For those looking for serious yet friendly competitions, the J/80 class is ideal.

Looking ahead to the world championship in Belgium in 2025

This ONK sailing in the Netherlands was not only an important championship in itself but also a perfect warm-up for the J/80 world championship taking place next year in Nieuwpoort, Belgium, of which CFP Green Buildings is the main sponsor. The participants tested their skills and prepared for one of the world’s largest sailing events. With new experiences, insights, and renewed determination, the sailors departed, ready to come back stronger next year.
